The area around Dymock, on the Gloucestershire and Herefordshire borders, is famed for its wild daffodils that can be seen each year around the end of March. Once a common sight throughout Gloucestershire, and its county flower, these small blooms are now found mainly in the "golden triangle", near the villages of Dymock, Kempley and Oxenhall. Each year these villages organise a festival, including guided walks to see the flowers and teas in the village halls.
If you want to explore the woods and meadows yourself, try these walks:

You can also download The Daffodil Way ap for android phones with a GPS map showing the best sites.
Don't forget to check our What's On Guide for information on the annual daffodil weekends across the "golden triangle" each year. Also see our guide to spring for all the wild flowers to see and woodland walks in the area.
Other sites for daffodils:
During the season it is well worth driving through the Severnside village of Newnham-on-Severn which always has a good display and visiting Lydney Park Spring Gardens.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
That floats on high o'er vales and hills...
