Set predominantly during World War II, Captain America: The First Avenger tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who, in order to aid in the war effort, is transformed into super-soldier Captain America after taking a dose of a secret super serum. Being a superhero comes at a price when Captain America's main objective is to fight crime. 

The Hollywood production was filmed in various places in the UK, including an ex-Royal Naval Propellant Factory in Caerwent in Monmouthshire.
