In the heart of the Forest of Dean, and with a large open ground bordered by a treeline, Beechenhurst could almost be the kind of site where pioneers might settle on the eastern seaboard of America, and this is exactly how the open picnic ground was used when New Worlds arrived for filming.
A drama series about settlers to America in the 17th century, New Worlds constructed a fort at Beechenhurst, populating the set with actors bearing muskets, and actors sporting mohicans as part of their portrayal of Native Americans.
