Back in the 1980s, ITV produced a hugely popular Saturday evening TV series entitled Robin of Sherwood, which featured Chepstow Castle as a key location in a number of episodes.
In the series, the castle was used as a setting known as Castle Belleme, named for the character Baron Simon de Belleme, a nobleman and sorcerer, and was featured in the very first episode, "Robin Hood and the Sorcerer", as well as in the episodes "The Enchantment" and "The Inheritance".
