The Wales Coast Path

The Wales Coast Path is the longest continuous coastal path around a country, covering some 870 miles around the whole of Wales.

It starts (or finishes) in Chepstow, along the banks of the River Wye in Monmouthshire and takes in many contrasting landscapes from cliff top strolls to estuarine wanders, picturesque fishing villages to vibrant cities, industrial heritage to unconquered castles, desolate windswept beaches to bustling seasides. 

South Wales Coast:

Why not base yourself in the Wye Valley and walk the 6 miles from Chepstow to Blackrock Picnic Site along the River Severn as it becomes the Severn Estuary, taking in great views of the two majestic Severn Bridges. For a longer walk, push on through the Gwent levels, a haven of flora and fauna, towards Newport.

The route was launched on 5th May 2012.
