With February half-term fast approaching, we're here to help if you're struggling for ideas! From a train ride through the woodlands to a game of outdoor laser tag, there's plenty going on in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley to help keep the kids entertained all week long!
Perrygrove Railway
Perrygrove Railway offers the opportunity to take a train journey through the woods and meadows of Perrygrove, as well as to have fun exploring their 'Treetop Adventure', 'Twilight Village', and 'Foxy Hollow & Warren Adventure'. Plus, for half-term, they're putting on a variety of extra activities, including colouring, crafts, and BigJig play sessions!
Nature in Art
Nature in Art is the only museum in the world that is dedicated to art that has been inspired by nature! Throughout half-term, they are offering a series of activity days as part of The Wild Escape initiative, which aims to encourage children to join the conversation about biodiversity and wildlife in the UK. Try your hand at creating a shiny 3D bug, create a beehive out of bubble wrap, make a butterfly suncatcher, or draw a meadow scene!
While you’re there getting crafty, don’t forget to check out the world-renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, featuring exceptional images which capture fascinating animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the breathtaking diversity of the natural world.
Adventure Golf at Whitemead Forest Park
For an activity that the whole family can get involved in, Whitemead Forest Park’s adventure golf course gives you the opportunity to take on twelve woodland-themed holes, complimented with expertly crafted features such as woodland creatures, flora, and locally-themed elements.
Dick Whittington Park
Dick Whittington Park offers a range of activities which are perfect for a fun family day out! Spend time playing in the indoor Play Barn, or head outside to enjoy peaceful nature trails through the Hidden Valley, part of the Blakemore Park Estate.
Young Family Cycling Adventure Experience
Burn off all that excess half-term energy with a bike ride through the stunning Forest of Dean! Wye-Bikes offer a range of bikes for hire, with E-Bikes available for the adults, enabling everyone to get involved no matter their fitness or cycling ability!
Little Learners Playspace
Little Learners Playspace is an early years activity centre which focuses on encouraging writing skills and learning through play.
