About Us
Newland is a pretty little village, dating from the middle ages, in the centre of which is the magnificent "Cathedral of the Forest", All Saints Church, dating back to the 13th century. The main part of the village is grouped around the church and its churchyard, which are overlooked by The Ostrich Inn.
The church is worth a visit, containing many interesting artefacts, including the original Miner's Brass, the symbol of the Royal Forest of Dean.
Being less than 2 miles from Coleford and Clearwell, and 6 miles from Monmouth, Newland sits on the edge of both The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, and is a good central location from which to plan your visit and an ideal centre for walking.
