With a beautiful edge of village setting The House of Bread enjoys many local facilities including local shops, take-away, chemist & pubs (doggy friendly and serving food) and a wealth of indoor and outdoor activities and beautiful scenery practically on the doorstep. So, you can enjoy a romantic weekend away or a fun filled activity holiday. It’s up to you!
Comfortable and flexible Self-Catering accommodation in 2 beautiful stone-built cottages each sleeping up to 4 people and a converted barn sleeping 2, at The House of Bread, Christchurch, Forest of Dean. The perfect get-away near the peaceful Wye Valley but is close to adrenalin activities such as mountain biking or rock climbing and a range of creative and mindful activities to bring out your creative side.
The House of Bread is just a few miles from Symonds Yat Rock and Symonds Yat East and beautiful forest walks to the River Wye go practically from the front door.
We have a great village location with good local shops, pubs (serving food), a church and bus services providing easy access to activities such as biking, canoeing, rope courses, wine tasting or bird watching. Or for shopping, cinema & theatre visit Coleford, Chepstow, Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye all of which are in easy reach.
Our Cottages
Our beautiful stone built cottages (Home Cottage and Old Bakery Cottage) are self-contained with their own entrances & key safes and all you need for your stay including high chairs, stairgates, ironing boards and irons, hairdryers, linen and towels, microwaves, dishwashers, electric ovens and hobs, fridge freezers and gas central heating. They have wi-fi, well-equipped kitchens, lounges and dining areas and family sized bathrooms with a bath with shower over.
Each of our cottages sleeps up to 4 people (and can be set up as 2 doubles or 1 double and 1 twin). We allow up to 2 dogs per cottage (for a small extra charge).
Old Bakery Cottage - has a lounge/diner, an extra downstairs toilet, wood-burner in the lounge and a private patio area.
Home Cottage - has a separate cosy lounge and dining room, TVs in the bedrooms, outside seating areas and is packed full of character.
Butty Barn – our latest addition is a beautiful spacious 1 king size bedroomed barn conversion. With original features, made extra cosy with a log burner.
Min. 2 night stay. Flexible change over days. 2 dogs per cottage welcome (small extra charge per dog holiday).
There is private parking in our pretty courtyard/garden and secure, lockable bike storage and bookable guest access to a washing machine & BBQ.
