About Us
The award-winning Forest Bakehouse is a cooperative bakery based in the village of Longhope, in the beautiful Forest of Dean. Our main focus is creating highly nutritious bread and pastries using locally milled organic flour, free from any unnecessary ingredients or additives. We use a range of traditional processes including sourdough cultures and French viennoiserie to create products of the finest quality and flavour. Our retail space is located alongside our production area, giving customers the chance to see how their products are made while they place their order.
We are passionate about the benefits of localising our supply chain and work with a number of producers in our area, selecting a range of local meat, dairy and vegetables to make a delicious addition to our baked goods and offer our customers a seasonal taste of the region.
Our coffee is supplied by a local speciality roaster and we know the difference between a macchiato and a cortado! We also sell cold drinks and other snacks from local producers, making us a one-stop shop for breakfast, lunch or treats for your picnic.
The Bakery is very popular, so if there's a particular pastry or loaf you have in mind please arrive early or place an order by phone or email to avoid disappointment.
